Second Leg - Deadhead from New Orleans, LA, to Crossing Park (Austin), TX

The Chisholm Trail was the major route out of Texas for livestock. Although it was used only from 1867 to 1884, the longhorn cattle driven north along it provided a steady source of income that helped the impoverished state recover from the Civil War.

Third Leg - Deadhead from Austin, Tx, to Salt Lake City, Ut

Church Rock is a solitary column of sandstone in southern Utah along the eastern side of U.S. Route 191 near the entrance to the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. In the same area with the majestic Colorado and Green River canyons and Canyonlands, this 200-foot roadside oddity near Monticello is called Church Rock. It seldom attracts more than a casual glance as visitors head toward Newspaper Rock State Historic Monument and the Needles District, or drive between Moab and Monticello.

Third Leg - Deadhead from Salt Lake City, UT, to Medford, OR

The Enola Gay Hangar is located on the Historic Wendover Airfield in Wendover, UT. Even though the hangar no longer covers the historical aircraft (it is located in D.C.), the hangar still remains one of the most endangered historical sites in the country. However, money has been pumped into restoring this legendary origination point from which Enola Gay took off at 0245 hours, August 6, 1945 to drop the first bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.

Fourth Leg - Transport Mariner Sailboat from Medford, OR, to Salt Lake City, UT

Wendover Will is a sign created in 1952 for the Stateline Casino in West Wendover, Nevada. The 63-foot-tall sign was planned to draw travelers off the US Highways 40 and 50, later known as Interstate 80. The sign includes 1/4-mile of neon tubing. When driving east on Interstate 80, a caption under the sign reads "This is the place" as a nod to the Mormons headed to Salt lake City. When driving west, the caption under the sign reads "Where the West begins".
